Keeping older adults and persons with disabilities in the community is the goal of many programs offered through the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and county based aging programs.

Community-based care is often less expensive than care in a facility drawing on the person’s network of friends and family for informal support. Community-based care also lessens the likelihood that the person will become isolated and/or experience depression.

Programs that help support older adults and persons with disabilities to move back into or to stay in the community:
